| Piper about: | ..wearing a wedding dress: "One of the first plays I ever did was Our Town, for community theatre. They didn't have much of a budget, so for a wedding dress I wore my mother's gown. When I came downstairs in her dress, she just burst out sobbing. I guess because I was so young, like 16. Anyway, I've worn so many wedding dresses in plays and in films. So far I haven't liked any of them. That's what's sort of saving me from getting jaded about that whole 'big day' thing." ..the accent: "I worked really hard on that accent, I hate when I'm watching a film and a performer's accent comes and goes. I find it distracting and laughable so it was frightening to do this film for that reason. What I aimed for was consistency. If you fuck it up in a British film and they could have cast any number of genius British actresses, you look like an ass, you know what I mean?" ..falling in love, even you´re in a relationship: "You might have to risk it all. That's a scary thing when you're in love with someone and you realize, 'Oh my God, I'm in love with someone else. And was I ever really in love with that first person? Do I even know what love is? Am I an idiot, am I a jerk? How do I even bring this up?' Do you lie to yourself and stay in the relationship you're in? It's confusing." ..love at first sight: "Anyone that I've ever loved, even if I didn't admit it to myself when I first saw them, when I finally had the courage to admit it to them that I loved them, I know that I knew it from the minute I met them - in some instinctual way, I knew it. You recognize something in a person," ..the kissing scene between the roses: "It was, by far, not as romantic as it looks. You can try to get all the thorns off roses, but there's always still a couple them. But it was nice because there were a lot of flowers. I think most of the men on the shoot had a girlfriend by the end of filming. Flowers only last for a day, so everyone got to take them home every day." |
